Before Your Waxing Appointment

  • Arrive 15 minutes early for a personalized consultation with one of our expertly trained specialists. This allows us to understand your needs, customize your experience, and maximize results.
  • Hair Length Matters: For the best results, hair should be at least ¼ inch long (about the size of a grain of rice). Avoid shaving 2–3 weeks before your appointment to ensure proper removal.
  • Exfoliate Gently: 1–2 days prior, use a gentle scrub or an ingrown hair exfoliator to remove dead skin. Avoid harsh scrubs or chemical exfoliants on the day of your wax.
  • Keep Skin Hydrated: Maintain hydrated skin leading up to your appointment, but avoid applying lotions, oils, or creams on the treatment area on the day of your wax.
  • Dress Comfortably: Wear loose, breathable clothing to minimize irritation post-wax.
  • Sun & Skincare Precautions: Avoid sun exposure, tanning, retinol, and exfoliating acids (AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acids, etc.) on the area for at least 48 hours before your wax to prevent sensitivity.
  • Limit Heat & Sweat: Skip intense workouts, hot showers, and saunas right before your appointment to avoid skin irritation.
  • Reduce Sensitivity: If you are prone to sensitivity, consider taking an anti-inflammatory (like ibuprofen) 30–45 minutes before your wax for added comfort.

After Your Body Waxing Appointment:

Your skin will be more sensitive after waxing, so proper care is essential to prevent irritation, ingrown hairs, and maintain silky smooth skin.

  • Avoid Touching or Scratching: Keep hands away from the freshly waxed area to prevent irritation and bacteria from entering open follicles.
  • Limit Heat & Sweat: Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, swimming, and intense workouts for at least 24-48 hours to prevent sensitivity.
  • Wear Loose Clothing: Tight fabrics can cause irritation, especially after Brazilian, bikini, or underarm waxing. Opt for soft, breathable materials.
  • Moisturize with Fur Oil: After 48 hours, apply Fur Oil daily to soothe skin, prevent ingrown hairs, and keep the area hydrated.
  • Exfoliate for Smooth Skin: After 48 hours, gently exfoliate 2-3 times per week to prevent ingrown hairs. Use a gentle scrub or Fur Ingrown Eliminator Serum for added brightening and skin renewal.
  • Protect Skin from the Sun: Freshly waxed skin is more prone to sunburn—apply SPF if the area will be exposed.
  • Avoid Harsh Skincare Products: Skip retinol, AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, or strong exfoliants for at least 48–72 hours post-wax to prevent irritation.
  • No Shaving or Tweezing: Allow hair to grow naturally between sessions to maintain consistent growth patterns and minimize irritation.
  • Maintain Smooth Skin: Rebook your wax every 4–6 weeks when hair reaches ¼ inch in length.

Additional Aftercare for Specific Areas

While general post-wax care applies to all areas, sensitive zones require extra attention:

  • Brazilian/Bikini Wax:
    • Avoid sex, sweating, tight underwear, or friction from workouts for 48 hours to prevent irritation.
    • Keep the area hydrated with Fur Oil daily to maintain softness and prevent ingrown hairs.
    • If prone to dark spots, use Fur Ingrown Eliminator Serum for gentle brightening.
  • Underarm Wax:
    • Skip deodorant for 24 hours post-wax, as it can cause irritation or clog open follicles.
    • Wear loose-fitting tops and avoid excessive sweating.
  • Legs & Arms:
    • Avoid chlorinated pools & extended sun exposure for 48 hours to prevent sensitivity.
