Before Your Session:

  • Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least two weeks prior to your treatment. Daily application of a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher is recommended.
  • Tanning Beds: Do not go to a tanning bed two weeks prior to treatment
  • Topical Medications: Discontinue the use of products containing retinoids (e.g., Retin-A®, Renova®, Differin®, Tazorac®), high-percentage alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) five days before your peel. Consult your physician before stopping any prescription medications.
  • Skin Treatments: Refrain from facial waxing, electrolysis, or using depilatory creams on the treatment area for at least seven days before the procedure.
  • Skin Condition: Ensure the treatment area is free from open wounds, cold sores, or active infections. If you have a history of cold sores, inform your provider, as antiviral medication may be recommended.
  • Hydration: Maintain adequate hydration by drinking water and using a gentle moisturizer leading up to your appointment.
  • Medical Conditions: If you are pregnant, nursing, or have any underlying health conditions, consult with your healthcare provider before undergoing the procedure.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment for a personalized consultation with one of our expertly trained specialists. This ensures we understand your goals, tailor your treatment, and maximize your results.

After Your Session:

First 48 Hours (Days 1–2 Post Peel):

  • Avoid overheating as internal heat can cause excessive inflammation. Refrain from strenuous exercise, hot showers, saunas, and hot tubs.
  • Do not expose treated skin to hot water spray (such as direct shower streams) or steam.
  • Avoid excessive perspiration, as sweat can cause irritation.
  • Do not use loofahs, washcloths, or mechanical exfoliation on the treated area.
  • Do not apply ice or ice water to the treated skin, as this may interfere with the healing process.
  • Avoid using a hair dryer directly on the treated area, especially if you’ve had a peel on the face, neck, or décolleté.

Ongoing Aftercare (Until Peeling Resolves):

  • Peeling & Flaking: Expect mild to moderate peeling beginning 2–3 days post-treatment and lasting up to 7–10 days depending on peel intensity. DO NOT pick or pull at peeling skin, as this can lead to scarring or hyperpigmentation.
  • Moisturization:
    • Use PCA Skin’s Post-Procedure Solution for at least 3–5 days or until flaking stops.
    • If the skin feels tight or dry, apply ReBalance (for normal to oily skin) or Collagen Hydrator (for dry skin) to keep the skin comfortable.
    • For maximum hydration, apply Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum under your moisturizer.
    • Moisturizer should be applied at least twice daily, but can be applied more frequently if needed to alleviate dryness.
  • Sun Protection:
    • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks. Always wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen (PCA Weightless Protection SPF 45, Hydrator Plus SPF 30, or Active Broad Spectrum SPF 45 recommended).
  • Makeup Application:
    • It is recommended to avoid applying makeup the same day as your peel to allow the skin to stabilize. If necessary, wait at least 15 minutes after treatment before applying.
  • Product Usage:
    • Discontinue exfoliating agents (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide, and prescription topicals like tretinoin) for at least 7 days post-peel.
    • Delay resuming retinoid treatments (Retin-A, Differin, Tazorac) for 5 days pre- and post-peel unless otherwise advised by your provider.
  • No Waxing or Additional Skin Treatments:
    • Avoid waxing, laser treatments, facials, or other skin resurfacing treatments for at least two weeks post-peel.
  • Hydration & Diet:
    • Drink plenty of water and consume collagen-boosting foods (vitamin C-rich fruits, leafy greens, omega-3 fatty acids) to enhance skin renewal.
  • Follow-Up Treatments:
    • Schedule your next peel as recommended by your provider:
      • Signature Peel: Every 2–4 weeks
      • Advanced Peel: Every 4–6 weeks
      • Ultimate Rejuvenation Peel: Every 6–8 weeks
